Tiffany N. Sullivan

MANAGING ATTORNEY FOR FAMILY LAW, DIVORCE, CUSTODY, CHILD SUPPORT AND ADOPTION

“Every child should have a voice.”  Children, teenagers and young adults are overwhelmed and confused by the legal system, sometimes not knowing what to say in their defense or how to explain the events surrounding their situation.  A defense attorney needs to be able to listen and be their voice.

Tiffany Sullivan comes to the O’Brien Law Firm from a strong background in Juvenile Criminal Defense and Family Law.  Upon graduating from Regent Law School, Tiffany entered private practice and focused on Family Law and Civil Law.  Before law school, Tiffany spent 12 years working as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker.  She has a Masters Degree in Clinical Social Work from Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) and an undergraduate degree in Family and Child Development from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Virginia Tech).  Her background and experience in social work make her a dynamic resource in her chosen areas of practice.

In 2008, Tiffany started working at the Hampton Public Defenders Office as a member of the Juvenile and Domestic Relations team.  In this position, she defended children and adults in a variety of serious cases.  She has successfully handled domestic violence and assault cases, child abuse, and a variety of serious crimes such as rape, robbery, burglary and grand larceny.   She is a seasoned advocate and is very knowledgeable about the twists and turns of Juvenile Law.  To successfully practice in Juvenile Court you need an attorney like Tiffany who understands all of the options available, who is familiar with the support services that the court system works with and who can advocate for and understand her clients and their needs.

Tiffany is passionate about Family Law and represents clients in Divorces (both contested and uncontested divorce cases), temporary separations, child custody and visitation, child support, and applications for and defenses against orders of protection (aka protective orders or restraining orders).  She is also certified as a Guardian Ad Litem and looks forward to being the voice of children in a variety of family law situations.

Tiffany is a member of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) and the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI).  She is also a member of Mothers Against Violence an organization whose purpose is to preserve the lives of youths and their families.

Tiffany is a passionate about assisting people with enhancing the quality of their lives.  She is a strong and committed advocate who is able to empathize with her clients.

In addition to being the Managing Attorney for all Family Law matters, Ms. Sullivan represents clients in Divorce, Custody, Visitation, Child Support, Adoption, Juvenile Criminal, Delinquency Petitions, CHINS Petitions, Traffic, Misdemeanor Defense, Felony Defense, DUI or DWI, Guardianships, actions to Expunge Records, Restoration of Civil Rights and Restoration of Driving Rights.  She provides a free 30 minute consultation for most criminal and juvenile matters.  She charges a small fee for family law consultations if the client wishes to discuss the details of the case prior to finalizing their choice of attorney.
