Even though we asked for the impossible to be done (we have a family member in the Air Force who refused legal representation), our goal was reached to help a person who didn't want our help. My husband was facing a serious felony charge of Sexual Assault, where he could of gotten anywhere from 5 years to life. CASE: on one fateful evening, we collided with a motorcyclist. No one was hurt. Nonetheless. we were issued a reckless driving ticket (traffic misdemeanor violation) in the city of Hampton Roads. I was charged with reckless driving after causing an injury-related auto accident. I felt I simply made a driving error as countless people do every day. I turned to Crystina for help. The judge heard multiple witnesses who testified against me and then turned to Crystina who brilliantly argued that my actions did not rise to reckless as defined by Virginia state law AND that there was not sufficient evidence to prove that I was even at fault. Over the course of the last year and I half I have been going through a rough time in the Army. I was wrongfully accused of some things, the former unit command treated me like dirt and wouldn't afford me due process, the Army TDS was Counsel was ineffective, at the end of the day I day I thought my career was over. I decided to get on-line to find a civilian attorney. The Hampton Roads has numerous attorneys that deal with Navy and Air Force Law due to this area's saturation of such, but not many that deal with Army Law for servicemembers like myself. Crystina M. O'Brien is a defininte credit to her profession as an attorney. She represented me about 6 to 7 years ago while I was still on active duty and helped me to get through a tough period during my military career and was able to help me maintain and keep what I had through pointing out the injustices being made in my case at the time. I hired Ms.O’brien the day after being arrested for a misdemeanor (possession of marijuana). Previously I’ve experienced lawyers taking your $$ and treating your case as if your another number. I must say I had my doubts in the beginning ... BUT THE WAY MS.O’BRIEN HANDLED MY CASE UPON STEPPING IN THE COURT ROOM!!!! AMAZING!!! FLAWLESS VICTORY!! This law firm made an already difficult situation even worse. I have never paid someone to be talked down to before I retained this firm. After deciding to fire them they delayed and postponed to run up fees and keep my retainer. STAY AWAY FROM THESE CROOKS! I WOULD LOVE TO SHOW THE EMAILS AS PROOF OF THEIR DELAY AND DEFLECTION TO INCUR FEES. I PAYED THEM 4000 FOR CHILD CUSTODY. I had consulted with Crystina a couple of years ago when I expressed my desire to relocate out of state to be closer to my immediate family. She did NOT make me feel confident in the process, she has expressed that she had won representing FATHERS win in court multiple times! In addition, I agree to the other bad review in here, she suggested unspeakable things. For example, giving up primary custody, getting visitations only that I would have to travel back to VA for my daughter's spring breaks, summers, etc. Crystina did not bother to listen to the differences in improvement quality of life between where we were (in VA) and where we relocated. This was a waste of my money and time, I went back to the firm who represented me a few years ago. I WON, I was granted to relocated to the state of California with my daughter. When consulted about a custody matter. This lady went on the attack suggesting unspeakable things that suggest that she will not as some reviews have said, fight for you. From what I gather, she forms opinion without obtaining all of the pertinent facts. This is not someone you want representing you in a custody proceeding.
